Nova Group is proud to have partnered with Eurocell and Nu-Openings to design and manufacture UPVC window system for Green Church Developments’ new care home in Doncaster.
The project brief, provided to Nu-Openings, focused on delivering aesthetically appealing windows, deviating from the traditional, uninspiring designs often associated with care homes.
In addition to aesthetics, the windows needed to incorporate thicker glass to reduce the impact of harsh sunlight. One of the key challenges faced was completing the project within a tight four-month timeframe, while also ensuring that all windows met stringent health and safety standards, including the installation of window restrictors and tamper-proof glass.
The Eurocell Logik 70mm window system, with a chamfered design and Ash black finish, was chosen to meet both the aesthetic and functional requirements. The Ash black color provided a striking contrast to the building’s cladding, meeting the design brief’s objectives.
Steve Carvell of Nu-Openings commented, “The collaboration between Nu-Openings, Nova Group, and Eurocell was crucial in ensuring the project’s success. The final result, particularly the colors, was visually stunning, leaving the client extremely satisfied.”
The windows, with an impressive U-value of 1.2, were designed to minimize heat transfer, contributing to the building’s energy efficiency. Combined with enhanced heat radiation, ventilation, and thermal performance, the windows help to maintain a consistent temperature between 18-20°C, reducing the building’s overall energy consumption.
Kelly Hibbert, Head of Commercial Sales at Eurocell, praised the project: “Despite the tight deadline, the project ran smoothly, showcasing Eurocell’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable, and visually appealing solutions. We’re proud to support our clients in enhancing their green credentials while creating attractive and comfortable spaces.”
