Winkhaus FireFrame®
The Winkhaus FireFrame® is a frame system designed for minimal upkeep, constructed using a specially developed GRP (glass reinforced polymer) with added fire-resistant properties. It has undergone the latest testing in conjunction with the AV2 autoLocking systems.
During fire door testing, the AV2 locking points automatically engage with the frame when the door is closed. This feature restricts door leaf distortion caused by heat, which sets it apart from conventional locks where only the central latch is engaged during testing.
Nova Composite firedoors incorporating FireFrame® composite doorsets undergo fire testing from both the inside and outside of the door, comfortably meeting the 30-minute performance requirement with an average fire integrity resistance of 51 minutes. For enhanced accessibility, the doorset can be equipped with a low threshold to facilitate wheelchair entry. Furthermore, when fitted with a dedicated motor, the AV2 autoLocking system seamlessly integrates with multiple access control systems.
While both EN1634 and BS476 standards are acceptable for fire testing under current legislation, Winkhaus exclusively employs EN1643 for all primary fire and smoke testing. This standard is regarded as more demanding and up-to-date, ensuring rigorous evaluation of fire and smoke performance.
About the Guardsman Fire Door Slab
The Guardsman Fire Door utilizes Agrifiber, a board material composed of resin-bonded agricultural fibers. Unlike the phenolic foam commonly used in other composite fire doors, Agrifiber offers superior strength and stability. Additionally, it stands out as a sustainable building product, contributing to improved environmental credentials for buildings.
