Meet Matt Jackson

Driving quality from the factory floor to final check

At Nova Group, quality isn't just a final tick-box, it's a mindset embedded at every stage of manufacturing. And leading that commitment is Matt Jackson, our dedicated Quality Manager, whose career journey is a testament to hands-on experience, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of both products and people.

Moving to Manchester in 2000, he joined Nova Group in the PVC department and quickly immersed himself in the manufacturing process, learning every stage from the ground up.

In 2016, Matt moved into quality control, where his curiosity and eye for detail led him to thrive. He steadily progressed to Quality Control Supervisor, gaining in-depth knowledge of compliance standards such as PAS 24 and ISO 9001. In 2021, Matt stepped into his current role as Quality Manager, where he leads with a clear philosophy: quality is everyone's responsibility.

"I know both sides of the story," Matt says. "I've made the products, and I've inspected them. That hands-on experience means I know exactly what's acceptable, and what isn't."

What sets Matt apart as a Quality Manager is his deep, hands-on knowledge of the products he now inspects. Having spent years on the factory floor at Nova, Matt has personally worked across the key stages of manufacturing, giving him an intimate understanding of how each component is made, where issues can arise, and what to look for to ensure every product meets our high standards. This real-world experience means his quality checks aren't just thorough – they're informed by practical insight. He doesn't just know what quality looks like; he knows how it's built.

At Nova, quality checks aren't limited to the final stage. Our windows and doors are inspected at every key stage of the process, not just at a final checking stage, ensuring full compliance and performance from the inside out. Whether it's a high-performance window or a fully certified FD30 doorset, every product is tested to the same rigorous standards.

Our team is trained to raise issues, not pass them down the line, creating a proactive, not reactive culture. As Matt puts it:

"We don't want goods coming back – we want customers coming back."

With decades of combined experience on the factory floor – including team members who've been with us for over 40 years – we've built a culture of deep product knowledge and pride in getting it right the first time.

When you work with Nova, you're not just getting a great product; you're getting the confidence that it's been built and inspected by people who know the industry inside out.
